A new Architecture Faculty

Since the integration of the schools of architecture La Cambre and Horta at the ULB, there has been talk for a new faculty of architecture that should unite the two institutes. This question gave rise to many debates amongst the new faculty of architecture’s professors.

The purpose of this project is to give space to students' voices over the following questions «what is the new architecture faculty? And should the Faculty of Architecture be on a university campus?

Architecture must be practiced in the environment in which it operates, the city. It is thus essential for the architecture faculty to be close to the city. The ULB seeks to put in place a policy of pooling equipment, so it is imperative that the architecture faculty positions itself near a university campus. The former Volta industrial site is located halfway between the Solbosch campus and the Plaine campus. The site is also close to the rapidly changing Delta area. This part of the city is divided by the ring and by railways. The Delta Triangle project responds to the rupture created by the ring and gives us the opportunity to respond to the second rupture by extending the Volta Street as a footbridge towards the otherside of the railway.
